bio

Born 1979, Vejen, Denmark

Lives and works in London, UK

Adam Christensen is a multidisciplinary artist based in London, whose work is primarily realized through textiles, music, and installation, blurring the boundaries between everyday life and fiction. Based on his immediate experiences, colored by the theatricality of every day, the spectacle of domesticity, chance encounters, and emotional and physical dramas, Christensen conveys these experiences through his performances. A primary concern of Christensen’s practice is the construction and representation of space, and what ‘activates’ that space – the unfolding narrative of heartbreak, desire, memory, and identity. He forms a ‘stage’ from which he interacts with the audience and can edit the narrative, often by singing with the accordion and reading short stories, adding layers to a story in a process of continuous development.

Lives and works in Copenhagen

In Ann Lislegaard’s work, experiences of simulated spheres are created by means of interdisciplinary hybrids and connections — between architecture and cinema, between fictional narratives, and between human beings, machines, and animals. In Lislegaard’s work, experiences of simulated spheres are created by means of interdisciplinary hybrids and connections — between architecture and cinema, between fictional narratives, and between human beings, machines, and animals. In this context, which draws on the historical residues of culture and technology while building on feminist gender theories, the boundaries between the real and the imagined are blurred. Concrete and simulated worlds interpenetrate and are reorganized within one another, a world within a world within a world. After decades in New York Lislegaard now lives and works in Copenhagen.

Lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark

Benedikte Bjerre works conceptually with sociological phenomena in a versatile practice focusing on sculpture and installation which reflect on the current state of society. She consistently examines sculptural qualities in relation to the architecture of a given space. The artist continually uses observations from her everyday life, as she engages in how the beholders experience their surroundings.

bio

Born 1983, Ascot, UK

Lives and works in London, UK & Turin, IT

Cally Spooner is a British-Italian artist and a writer, whose choreographies, rooted in her training in philosophy, unfold across media—through sound, on film, in text, as objects, and illustrated in drawings. Her series of five essays on “performance”, A Hypothesis of Resistance, was published as a monographic text book by Mousse, Milano in 2024. In each essay Spooner holds and examines temporalities which defy and eclipse the standardizations that drive individual and societal bodies to perform toward an entirely metric-oriented future. Beginning with “Asynchronicity” then extending to “Rehearsal,” “The Present Tense,” “Undetectability,” and “Duration”, A Hypothesis of Resistance was edited in conversation with Will Holder.

Solo and group exhibitions by Spooner count institutions including Palais de Tokyo (Paris), New Museum (New York), Graham Foundation (Chicago), Whitechapel Gallery (London), Castello di Rivoli (Turin), and Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam). Her works are found in public collections including the British Council Collection (UK) Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea (IT), Centre Pompidou (FR), CAPC Bordeaux (FR), Fondation Lafayette (FR), FRAC Franche Comté (FR), FRAC Ile de France (FR), Kadist Foundation (FR), and Stedelijk Museum (NL).

Lives and works in Copenhagen

Magnus Andersen draws abundantly from a wide range of art historical and popular cultural references, spanning Flemish still lifes,17th-century baroque and classical music, to color field painting and advertising aesthetics. Andersen renegotiates mundane and easily recognizable signifiers of contemporary visual culture and deliberately exaggerates them to a point of uncanniness. Cultivating humor and seriousness equally, his work engages with an accelerated nostalgia emblematic of post-industrial consumerism.

Lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark

Marie Lund’s artistic practice arrives from a contemplation on the interdependencies between architecture, space, objects, and bodies. Her sculptural works hold references to existing, functional objects, which she releases from their original use and transforms through tensile material processes into abstract sculptural structures. Often situated in relation to liminal positions, in resistance to sculpture as autonomous object, they activate their environment, encompassing encounters between body and space, and exchange with artworks by other artists. In turning to ideas of hosting and openness, space is given rather than merely occupied. Accordingly, Lund’s sculptures resonate as social as well as spatial frameworks, fostering mutual forms of dependency within exhibition formats.

bio

1976 Born in Aarhus, Denmark

Lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark

As a prominent exponent of an art that emphasises connection, juxtaposition and relationality, Simon Dybbroe Møller’s works engage with the relationship between the weighty materiality of sculpture, and their photographic representation and mediation. Dybbroe Møller explores what sculpture is or can be, in a world that is dictated by the photographic; a world where our economy and attention has shifted from the object to the image. Rather than settling into one medium or style, he continuously probes new territories, moving between film, photography, found objects, sculpture, writing, curating and teaching. Simon Dybbroe Møller was born in Aarhus, DK in 1976 and has been Professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Sculpture in Copenhagen since 2019. He co-runs the exhibition space AYE-AYE and curates the performance series Why Words Now.

bio

Born in 1991, Aarhus, Denmark

Lives and works in New York, US

Tora Schultz is a Danish sculptor. Her affinity for existing objects is profound as is her way of going about them. Operating in the opaque intersection between producing and preserving, her methods include shaping, bending, burning, disclosing. A preoccupation with meticulous treatments of hard materials is often seen in her work, with an equal devotion to bare their internal qualities while exposing functional assets and shortcomings. Tora Schultz applies a discrete insistence on the handmade and the wordless.

Lives and works in Denmark

Kirsten Ortwed’s painting, object art and sculpture originate in the early 70’s when she actively participated in the various post-minimalist and conceptualist movements. Her work creates a direct interaction with their surrounding space, often without the need for pedestals or frames. They disrupt and transform the space they occupy, shaping it through actions like perforating, folding, and compressing. This manipulation of space is inseparable from a manipulation of time. Her works are marked not only by the physical space they inhabit, but also by traces of time—whether through the process of creation or the idea that presence always carries a shadow or past. Ortwed’s sculptures are thus more than objects in space; they serve as signs, reflecting the temporal nature of the experience and the layers of meaning hidden beneath the visible form. Combination and relationship between form and material is essential to Ortwed’s artistic practice, just as she examines the relationship between form and space with special attention to process and transformation.
